Get Motivated! Five Ways to Build Motivation in the Workplace

Dallas Courier, Dallas On Demand Couriers

Do you ever just feel stuck?

Maybe you’re at work, and the energy is buzzing around you, but you just feel unmoved.

Or maybe you’re a leader at your job, and you see coworkers who are performing their tasks, but just seem to be doing the minimum to get by.

It’s time to get MOTIVATED.

We all have a drive that pushes us to succeed, but there are times when that drive is shifted into cruise control, and we’re just going with the flow, unmotivated to take control and move forward with our careers.

If you find yourself bored, lethargic, or uninspired, you might be suffering the effects of losing Tony Romo as your QB on your fantasy team, OR you might be lacking the motivation you need to succeed.

You’re not alone.

A study done a few years back concluded that about 63% of the worldwide workforce population would label themselves “not engaged” at their workplace.

Feeling unmotivated can be incredibly frustrating! What you need is a jump-start.

And who better to give you that jolt of energy than our Dallas one hour delivery team members; who are perpetually on their toes, making your on-time deliveries happen at a moment’s notice.

Here are five easy ways to get motivated at work:

1) Think and speak positively

If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all

This worked for the playground, and it will work for the office, as well. Staying positive, both in what you say and what you think, can make a mundane job more manageable. You might not be able to control what you do at work, how many jobs you’re tasked with, or even your coworkers, but what you can control is your attitude.

A positive attitude can make all the difference when it comes to motivation.

2) Remember your benefits and rewards

When you start to feel a little down about your job (a job that might not be something you’re passionate about) remember that the ends justify the means.

Think of all the benefits that come from your work: monthly pay, insurance, retirement.

Then think about the rewards that come from working: promotion, recognition, bonuses.

These can motivate you to work harder.

3) Set realistic goals

Sit down and take some time to really think about what you want out of your job. Goals have to be measurable and achievable. Goals also need a timeline; one that allows you to review the steps you’ve taken on the road to achievement.

Additionally, it’s healthy to compete with others for these goals. Competition is a great motivator! As long as its healthy and good natured.

4) Split up tasks

If you feel like you’re in a hamster wheel at work, maybe it’s time to change things up a bit. Doing the same mundane tasks all day can get incredibly unmotivating.

Try to split up the work. Instead of spending all of Monday replying to emails, spend the first two hours of the day on emails, and then move on to a different task, taking care to mix it up.

5) Get physically fit

What might seem like a work problem could actually be a personal problem. Exercise releases “feel good” hormones that can actually carry you through the whole work day.

Getting physically fit can help you stay “fit” at the workplace, too.

It can be tough to stay motivated, even for people who love their jobs like our Dallas four-hour couriers.

The good news is you don’t have to stay stuck in a rut. True motivation is up to you; you have the power to drive yourself to succeed. Our On-Demand Dallas couriers wish you the best!
